What I

Pushed Below

Relationships can be a microcosm of what is happening in our culture. Societally we have so much trauma that we’ve glossed over, pretending that we’re over it, and this pattern of denying our pain continues to be a bad solution that hurts people. I hope that these songs can encourage us to honestly face our feelings so we can be more understanding and compassionate to ourselves and those around us.”

– Sadie Gustafson-Zook

Gustafson-Zook collaborated with Alec Spiegelman (Cuddle Magic, Ana Egge, Taylor Ashton), who engineered, produced, arranged, and performed on What I Pushed Below. Recorded at Brooklyn’s Conveyor Studios, the EP also features lush strings by Emily Hope-Price (Pearl and the Beard, Kishi Bashi), violin by Andrew Sheron, as well as a solo piano ballad by Sadie herself.
